Construction Playbook Published

The new Construction Playbook sets out 14 key policies, which will be mandated across the public sector, to deliver projects ‘faster, better and greener’. Embedding the Playbook within the industry should address many of the long‐standing issues that have held it back and lead to a more profitable, innovative and productive industry. The Playbook requires:

• Greater certainty of the pipeline
• Early supply chain involvement and a focus on outcomes
• More standardisation
• Better contract management
• Investment in training and apprenticeships.

This is just the start of the journey towards a better industry and it will require a joined‐up approach between Government and industry. Build UK has a role to play in ensuring the Playbook is implemented and working as expected and taking action where required.
