Source - Build UK
Following the announcement of the fourâ€week lockdown in England from this Thursday 5 November until Wednesday 2 December, Coâ€Chair of the Construction Leadership Council (CLC) Andy Mitchell has written an open letter to the industry emphasising the call for the whole construction supply chain to remain open.
Sites should ensure they are complying with the Site Operating Procedures †Version 6, which includes the following subject to any additional local restrictions:
- Site canteens can remain open
- Workers should try not to share a vehicle with those outside their household or support bubble, but where this is necessary social distancing must be followed
- Workers should try to avoid using public transport during peak times of 05:45 †8:15 and 16:00 †17:30.
In the event of workers being stopped on journeys to and from sites, Build UK has produced an authorisation letter template for employers which may be helpful.
