End of Lockdown Restrictions

Following publication of the Government’s Social Distancing Review, the Prime Minister has confirmed that England will move to Step 4 of the COVID‐19 Roadmap on Monday 19 July, subject to a final review of the data next week. This means the remaining legal restrictions will be lifted, including the end of social distancing and ‘one metre plus’, no limits on gatherings, and the removal of the guidance to work from home. Face coverings will no longer be legally required, although guidance will be in place to suggest where people may choose to wear one, such as enclosed and crowded places where they come into contact with others they don’t usually meet.

The Health Secretary has also announced that from 16 August close contacts of people in England who have tested positive for COVID‐19 will not have to self‐isolate if they have had both doses of the vaccine or are under 18. They will be advised to get a PCR test and if it is positive then they will still need to self‐isolate for 10 days.

Build UK is currently reviewing the CLC Site Operating Procedures as well as The Use of Face Coverings in Construction during Coronavirus and a statement will be made next week.
