Mental Health in Construction

A new report by CITB on mental health in construction is calling for a joined‐up approach to improve the wellbeing of construction workers. Whilst there are a growing number of initiatives to support mental health in the industry, they often lack impact because they exist in isolation and there is no consistent message. With industry culture perpetuating poor mental wellbeing, the report cites the flexible working project undertaken by Build UK and Timewise as a way of making construction a safer and healthier place to work. CITB will be working with the CLC to develop an industry‐wide plan on mental health which tackles the key issues.
