Source - FIS (Finishes and Interiors Sector)
In conjuction with updated guidance within Site operation Procedure Version 4 regarding, FIS have produced additional information on Selection of Personal and Respiratory Protective Equipment during COVID-19.
SOP V4 recently updated guidance, removing the 15 minutes face to face working rule and recommending that Face Masks (PPE) should only be used for those task or activities that have always required them under general Health and Safety regulations.
For normal working Public Health England (PHE) are NOT suggesting that face masks need to be worn and that face coverings offer a suitable alternative for those that wish to use them.
As such, under PHE guidelines there is no requirement for employers to provide them. Guidance should however be provided for use and care.
We would like the thank FIS for the use of this additional information to support our members.
