After two years of our Annual General Meeting taking place virtually, we were delighted to hold our 2022 AGM in person this morning at The Priest House Hotel, Kings Mills, Castle Donington, Derby DE74 2RR.
We were pleased to welcome our keynote speaker Judith Payne, STEM Manager for the STEM Ambassador Hub East Midlands and East Midlands STEM Enrichment Partnership. Judith gave an overview of the STEM Ambassador scheme, including the Go Construct STEM Ambassador Scheme, how it works and what you have to do to become a STEM Ambassador. The AGM is held to review and approve the minutes from the previous year’s meeting, to approve the accounts and report of the Council, and to elect new Council Members and Council Officers. Both the CFA and existing Council Members are pleased to welcome Steve Kean (Quantum Flooring Solutions) on to the CFA Council, and re-elected to serve a further term on Council were Alan Gayle (A G Flooring Ltd), Alan McEwan (F Ball & Co Ltd) and Beverley McFarlane (Loughton Contracts plc).
Having served two years as President Hamish MacGregor (MacGregor Flooring Co Ltd) stepped down and handed over the role to Carl Harper (Westcotes Flooring Ltd); Alan McEwan (F Ball & Co Ltd) was elected to the role of Vice-President and John Butler (John Butler Contracts Ltd) remained as Treasurer.

The meeting was closed by a presentation from Shaun Wadsworth, CFA Training Manager, who gave an update on Future Fitters, the CFA's response to the skills and labour crisis in our industry. Shaun's presentation will be available to view in our member area i due course.
