The 2023 CFA Annual General Meeting took place place at the FITA Training Centre inLoughborough on Tuesday 15 August.
We were delighted to welcome our keynote speaker Tim Balcon, CEO of CITB, who was accompanied by Louise Thorpe, CITB Engagement Advisor. Tim gave a general update on CITB with emphasis on flooring and our sector across the UK, the levy system and how CITB is moving to a sector model as opposed to levy payers only model, how CITB aims to achieve its plans for reform and a wider perspective on training and the challenges ahead. Our thanks to Tim for attending and giving such an informative presentation.
The AGM is held to review and approve the minutes from the previous year’s meeting, to approve the accounts and report of the Council, and to elect new Council Members and Council Officers. Both the CFA and existing Council Members are pleased to welcome Nick Perkins (Loughton Contracts plc) on to the CFA Council, and re-elected to serve a further term on Council were John Butler (John Butler Contracts Ltd), Martin Cummins (Gerflor Flooring UK Ltd), Ross Dight (Tarkett Ltd) and Tony Mathé (Hillside Contracts Ltd),
Carl Harper (Westcotes Flooring Ltd) and Alan McEwan (F Ball & Co Ltd) were both re-elected to serve the second year of their terms as President and Vice-President. After many years John Butler (John Butler Contracts Ltd) had decided to step down as Treasurer and Louise Walters was elected to replace John as Treasurer for the next two years. Mr Butler was thanked for his time as Treasurer and for the support and work he has undertaken as part of this role.
