The Commercial Payments Bill had its second reading in the House of Lords last week and is expected to reach Committee Stage in July. The Bill should receive Royal Assent in early 2027, and Build UK is working closely with the Department for Business and Trade on how the new measures to tackle late payment will be implemented in construction, including the timing of the ban on withholding retentions.
